Understanding Fertilizer
The N-P-K Ratio
Fertilizers are rated by 3 numbers on the front of the bag. They represent the ratio of three important nutrients: nitrogen = N, phosphorus = P, potassium = K
- Nitrogen makes plants grow and become greener
- Phosphorus stimulates root and seeding development
- Potassium promotes disease and drought tolerance
