The Software Freedom School (SFS), at 7951 S. Santa Fe Dr., Littleton, CO 80120, teaches students about the value of free software solutions. The organization was founded in 2013 by Heather and David Willson in association with Linux Camp.
SFS addresses the entire student, body, mind, and spirit, with instruction about healthy eating choices, modern technologies, and methods for living with more effect and integrity. Four-hour introductory classes are combined with annual four-day immersion retreats to optimize learning.
Younger and older students, entrepreneurs, veterans, and those looking to change careers are welcome at Software Freedom School. It’s a wonderful opportunity for anyone who wishes to make the world better through free software applications.
If you leave Software Freedom School, turn left onto W. Grand Ave., go about 500 feet, and then turn left on S. Perry St. Then, you’ll turn left again, onto W. Rutgers Place, for about ½ mile. Then, you’ll arrive at Bow Mar Heights Park, which will be on the left.
From there, continue west on W. Rutgers for about 2/10 mile and turn right on S. Quitman St. Go 1/10 mile and turn left on W. Quincy Ave. Go 3/10 mile and make a U-turn to find Pinehurst Park on your right.
Head east on W. Quincy Ave. for about 400 feet, and then make another U-turn. In about 1.2 miles, you’ll arrive at Pinehurst Country Club.
From there, head east on W. Quincy Ave. for about 0.8 miles and turn left onto S. Sheridan Blvd. Continue another 0.8 miles, and turn right onto W. Kenyan Ave. to find the Southwest Family YMCA.
Now, turn right back onto S. Sheridan Blvd., and make your way onto U.S.-285 North. Continue for about 2.6 miles and turn left onto S. Santa Fe Dr. You’ll find Green Valley Turf Co. at 13159 U.S.-85, Littleton, CO 80125.
