Tahoma 31™ is a new cold-tolerant bermudagrass that uses 50% to 75% less water compared to cool-season grasses. We have tested this low-growing grass for four years and love it due to its soft, dense surface, wear tolerance, and color. This new grass loves traffic, requires a lot less mowing, and can handle open shade. Tahoma 31™ thrives in the heat of the summer, resists dog urine, and fills in bare spots quickly. Enjoy a beautiful lush low maintenance lawn and help save water. Green mid April to October.

Crushes the Cold

Less Mowing
With a horizontal growth habit, mow Tahoma 31™ every week or two for a normal lawn. For a manicured lawn, mow every five to seven days at on 1″ to 1.5″. For a natural look, mow once in the spring and let it go. Tahoma 31™only grows to 4″.
Soft Dense Thick Grass
Tahoma 31™ is dark green in color and has soft, fine, narrow blades. This dense grass handles high traffic, dog and kids and will self repair quickly in the heat of the summer.

Green Valley had great communication and the installers did an amazing job. I did a lot of research before going with the Tahoma 31. I ultimately wanted grass in my backyard for family/friend gatherings, my dog to have something soft to play on (he loves rolling on it), house resale value and I didn't want as much upkeep and watering. The sun hits hard in my back yard with not much shade so I think this grass choice is perfect. I got the grass installed at the end of last season and didn't enjoy it fully because I fenced it off and watered it as much as it needed. However it looked so beautiful and through the winter has still looked great! We will see how it does when it comes out of dormancy for the new season, but I have a good feeling it's going to be good. I'll report back again.

We took out our backyard did and put Tahoma 31 in. Using half the water vs. the old fescue bluegrass sod, going to use even less next summer. The big test will be how it winners over, so look for follow up reviews. If it goes as advertised we plan to replace the rest of the lawn next summer

We just put in our Tahoma 31 lawn yesterday, so it will be a while before we see the results. But, we love what we see so far. GVT delivered fresh sod which went down quickly. It’s a very dense grass with a great green color. With water costs rising, it’s a no-brainer.

I'm a water-conscious Coloradan and I hope a lot of people transition to this type of sod. Kudos to the GVT folks for figuring this out.

I’ve personally seen this Tahoma sod, and the water-saving properties it has. It’s the perfect sod for the Western US, where summers are hotter and drier and water is a premium. I’m a water-conscious Coloradan and I hope a lot of people transition to this type of sod. Kudos to the GVT folks for figuring this out.
