Professional Field Renovation
Green Valley Turf has provided natural sodded grass playing surfaces since 1962 and offers a variety of sods. We also offer sports services to assist field managers in providing complete field renovation services. These services include fraise mowing, removal of old turf surfaces, reverse tilling, laser grading, and big roll sod installation.
Sod Grown on Plastic
We have been growing cool-season turf grasses on plastic for years in 100% sand. This method of sod production has several advantages over conventional sod. The root system of the grass encapsulates the sand roots zone and locks it together, making it extremely strong and durable. A bullet-proof playing surface immediately. The day sod grown on plastic is installed, it is ready for play. That’s why we also call it Lay and Play.
Big Roll Sod Installation
Green Valley Turf Co. has years of experience installing big roll sod on sports fields. We developed big roll sod installation machines that float over the surface rather than rut or scuff on sand base root zones. Sod is shuttled onto the field with flotation forklifts as well so we do not damage or disturb the grade. We work closely with the customer during installation to ensure expectations are met and have plenty of skilled crew members to handle the details.
Laser Grading and Reverse Tilling
Green Valley Turf Co. uses the Rotadarian reverse tillers and the latest laser grading equipment to achieve smooth and precise grades. We grade and till with various size boxes and tillers and complete flotation tractors to ensure compaction is not an issue. We have the right people who understand grades and can provide precise grading services to ensure your field will drain correctly and be a fine playing surface.
Koro Sod Removal and Fraise Mowing
We use a Koro Field TopMaker to remove sod and fraise mow. It is a speedy method to remove old turf from a field, leaving a very smooth surface ready for sodding. It also pulverizes the old turf, making a nutrient-rich soil that can be recycled for top dressing and other applications. Fraize mowing is one of the best ways to remove heavy thatch and rejuvenate a field.
