In spring 2014, Cherry Hills Country Club in Colorado rebuilt the #17 island green surround, and the banks around the entire lake in preparation for the 2014 BMW Championship played in August. Erosion over the years caused a steep drop-off. The lake banks were rebuilt out of pea gravel to filter the lake water. To work on the pea gravel, we used HDPE sheeting so we would not disturb the grade and built a bridge to get across the moat to the green. We completed the project with Colorado Blue and GVT Short Cut Blue sod.
